Research Methodology
Killer Mentality employs a rigorous, evidence-based editorial methodology that combines academic sports psychology research with real-world performance data and elite athlete case studies.
Source Hierarchy
Peer-reviewed research — Published studies from the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, Frontiers in Psychology, and related academic publications form our primary evidence base.
Primary interviews and autobiographies — Direct accounts from elite athletes, coaches, and sports psychologists provide narrative context and real-world validation of theoretical frameworks.
Performance data — Statistical records, competition results, and training logs provide quantitative support for qualitative psychological analysis.
Expert consultation — We consult with licensed sports psychologists, performance coaches, and cognitive scientists to validate our interpretive frameworks.
Editorial Process
All articles undergo a multi-stage editorial review process. Draft analysis is reviewed for factual accuracy, source quality, and interpretive validity. We distinguish clearly between established research findings and editorial interpretation.
Corrections Policy
We promptly correct factual errors when identified. Corrections are noted at the top of the relevant article with a dated correction notice. Substantive corrections that affect the analytical conclusions of an article are accompanied by an editorial note explaining the nature and impact of the correction.
